Dynasty Deep Diving

If you’re looking for a deep dive at wide receiver in your dynasty league, and let’s be honest we all are, look no further than The Las Vegas Raiders Hunter Renfrow. Man that sounded strange to say. As a rookie he finished as the PPR WR54 with 605 receiving yards on 49 receptions. Ok, nothing too exciting there. On a points per game basis he was the WR52. Okayyy, still not that exciting. Oh, did I mention he’s a 16th percentile SPARQ score athlete? 🤢 Ok, none of these stats are very exciting, I’ll admit. But here are a few that are. He had the highest number of targets on the team and the highest snap share. He ranked 13th in the NFL in Red Zone targets. Lastly, Renfrow ranked 17th among all wide receivers in Yards Per Route Run. If you’re not familiar with this stat, it’s considered one of the more predictive stats for success the next season. It should just be called the Julio Jones Metric, because he’s ranked number 1 in the metric 5 out of the last 7 seasons. Here is the list of the Top 20 wide receivers in Yards Per Route Run from 2019.

This list would make a great Sesame Street segment of “One Of These Is Not Like The Other”. Renfrow stands out like a sore thumb. Now, I’m not saying Renfrow is likely to become a GIANT fantasy producer, but I think he can definitely be serviceable or flex worthy. Plus, he’s practically free. FantasyPros has him ranked number 162 in their dynasty rankings. I think he can produce much better than that. So why not roll the dice on Hunter Renfrow and see if he comes up sevens. See what I did there? 😉
