Dynasty Guide with Top 300 Rankings and Top 50 Rookie Rankings

I wrote an article a few days ago with help from Fantasy Couch about who to draft between Leonard Fournette and Todd Gurley and in his argument for Gurley, he talked about this year being good for the former Ram because he is getting Matt Ryan on an EVEN year, being it's the 2020 season. Now, I did know this to be true about Ryan, but to be honest, had never actually looked up what the actual finishes were. So, I did my due diligence, and it's absolutely true. Only once in his 12-year career has Ryan failed to finish in the top 10 on an EVEN year, and that came during his rookie season. You can see his finishes below:

Matt Ryan Career Stats

Something else to keep in mind with this is that as Ryan has matured as a passer, those finishes have improved with each EVEN season. 2016 and 2018 he finished as the QB2. And even last season on one of his bad ODD seasons, he actually did ok. He finished as the QB11.

Matt Ryan

What should we expect for 2020? BIG things! Fantasy analysts left and right are all over Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. In fact many predict both to finish top 10 at their positions. If they are expected to do that well, then Ryan most certainly will as well. Look how good Jameis Winston was last season with both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin finishing as WR1's. Ryan lead the NFL in pass attempts per game in 2019, and he will almost certainly be top 5 in attempts this year with OC Dirk Koetter again dialing up the passing game. Over the past three seasons, Koetter's offenses have ranked 1st, 4th and 3rd in total pass attempts. To go along with that, Atlanta has the 4th easiest schedule for QB's, and Jones and Ridley having the easiest schedule for wideouts. It's literally the perfect storm. 2020 will most likely see Ryan again near that top 5 finish. He is currently my QB6.
