Week 2 Waiver Adds

Top Waiver Ads

Every Tuesday, myself and @fantasypollsnow will give you our top recommended waiver adds for the week. Our waiver adds include any player who is available in at least 50% or more of Yahoo Leagues ]. Although we may make an exception on players who are really close to that threshold. Below are our top waiver adds heading into week 2. Some of these guys we had as adds before the start of the season last week, so hopefully some of you already grabbed them. Be sure to check back weekly.

Malcom Brown [ 27% Owned ]
Week 1: 18 ATT / 79 YARDS / 2 TD / 3 REC 31 YARDS

Brown put in a showcase game against the Cowboys in the Rams Sunday night win. He had 18 carries, 3 receptions, 110 all purpose yards, and 2 TDs to cap it off. If he produces with this kind of workload, we are likely looking at a high RB2. Hines was my number 1 target originally, but Brown gets that spot now.

Nyheim Hines [ 21% Owned ]
Week 1: 7 ATT / 28 YARDS / 1 TD / 8 REC 45 YARDS / 1 TD

Man, where to start. It reminds me of last season, when Austin Ekeler had a great week 1 with Philip Rivers. I’m not saying he will be top-5, but with Mack gone he can have a flex worthy role even if Jonathan Taylor sees most of the touches. Taylor and Hines both saw 15 touches, and both saw a ton of passing down work. Hines should be a top priority to pick up.

Benny Snell [ 16% Owned ]
Week 1: 19 ATT / 113 YARDS

With Conner out, we saw that Snell was the back to own. He saw 19 rushing attempts, carrying it for over 100 yards. This is very promising to see, and he didn’t even find the end zone. I don’t think he becomes a top back without Conner, but he is a flex with RB2 upside with Conner injured.

James Robinson [ 56% Owned ]
Week 1: 16 ATT / 62 YARDS / 1 REC 28 YARDS

He logged 100% of the running back carries in week 1. Any running back who can log that kind of market share needs to be rostered. The offense also looks much better than many predicted it would be.

Joshua Kelley [ 13% Owned ]
Week 1: 12 ATT / 60 YARDS / 1 TD

He played well in the Melvin Gordon role logging 12 rushes for 60 yards. It's very likely his role will continue to increase and push Ekeler to more of a 3rd down roll. He needs to be owned especially for those who drafted Ekeler.

Dallas Goedert [ 56% Owned ]
Week 1: 8 REC / 101 YARDS / 1 TD

Had 8 receptions for 101 yards on 9 targets, which out targeted teammate Zach Ertz. We saw Goedert finish as a TE1 in 2019, and he could improve on that this year. Should be rostered in way more leagues, as he has top-5 upside if something happens to Ertz as well.

Parris Campbell [ 23% Owned ]
Week 1: 6 REC / 71 YARDS

He is a must own in all formats. The speedster is now healthy and played the slot role in a Rivers led offense. He can turn those high percentage short routes into big gains with his playmaking ability. His 9 targets are a great sign for increased usage going forward.

Sammy Watkins [ 49% Owned ]
Week 1: 7 REC / 82 YARDS / 1 TD

We saw Watkins have a great performance on Thursday. While he might not be a starter for your team for the whole season, he saw 9 targets against the Texans and will clearly have a role when healthy, compared to Mecole Hardman, who is owned in more leagues.

Gardner Minshew [ 26% Owned ]
Week 1: 173 PASS YARDS / 3 TD / 19 RUSH YARDS

Already someone criminally underrated heading into the season, Minshew started silencing doubters week 1. While the Jags may be tanking, Minshew had a great game against the Colts. After one week scored the same points as DeShaun Watson and is the current QB11. He has rushing upside as well, which makes him even more appealing.

Chase Edmonds [ 41% Owned ]
Week 1: 6 ATT / 26 YARDS / 3 REC / 19 YARDS / 1 TD

It wasn’t the best week, but he saw 9 touchesand did decent with them, posting 13.5 points. Drake saw 18 touches and wasn’t very effective. Edmonds remains a top handcuff that has the potential to become a starter, given the uncertainty with Kingsbury as the head coach, as we saw last year with David Johnson

Alexander Mattison [ 45% Owned ]
Week 1: 6 ATT / 50 YARDS / 4 REC / 30 YARDS

It’s not ideal to have him with Cook there, but we saw him put up good numbers even with Cook starting. If something were to happen to Cook, he would be an immediate RB1. Arguably no player possesses this kind of upside.

Russell Gage [ 2% Owned ]
Week 1: 3 REC / 114 YARDS

The third Atlanta WR put up a respectable stat line with 12 targets, 9 receptions, and 114 receiving yards. While he is clearly behind Julio and Ridley, he impressed a lot and there is room for him to produce in one of the leagues most pass heavy offenses.

Allen Lazard [ 43% Owned ]
Week 1: 1 ATT / 19 YARDS / 4 REC / 63 YARDS / 1 TD

Lazard is the clear number 2 receiver there in my eyes, and he put up a respectable 18 points. We’ve seen Rodgers WR2s finish well before, and Rodgers looked great against the Vikings. If he has a great year, look for Lazard to have a good year as well.
